Due to the fact that tourism environment encompasses parties interdependent with overlapping responsibilities associated with tourism among many government agencies and institutions, Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) adopted, as part of its policy, to initiate partnerships with relevant agencies and authorities to coordinate efforts for the standardizations in the field of tourism, as well as supported the efforts of regions and the private sector, in tourism planning and management with high degree of efficiency.
Tourism partnership programs include several key angles, such as the development and improvement of systems and the establishment of infrastructure, finance and investment, support for small and medium enterprises, coordinated marketing and media efforts, development of tourism products, provide education and training, ensure health, environmental security and safety, and promote culture and heritage.
Enhancing the SCTA’s partnership approach, required follow up of policy of cooperation and transparency, setting up precise, clear and early goals, work on a duties and functions consistent with capabilities and qualifications of each party, the availability of decision-making power to representatives of the parties to the partnership, and the establishment of resolutions that serve the national interest and the state, through debates and negotiations.
