Tourism Vision and mission 

 

After the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities was established, goals were to be set so that all stakeholders will seek to achieve, and be in front of them to determine the direction.


 In the formation of these objectives, the Saudi society in all groups and sectors involved giving rise to a unique vision for tourism in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The tourism vision was based on a comprehensive framework of policies and principles of sustainability and economic feasibility in the light of the Kingdom’s social, cultural, environmental realities and Islamic values.


Saudi Tourism Vision

Saudi Arabia is the cradle of Islam. With this perspective, the development of tourism should be consistent with the facts and its distinctive social, cultural, environmental and economic realities, based on the Islamic value and authenticity of the ancient heritage and traditional hospitality of its people.

  
 Saudi Tourism Mission

 Saudi Arabia, concerned with its traditional values and its unique parameters, is striving to achieve balanced and sustainable development of tourism, which is economically diverse, socially enriching, and creating employment opportunities for its citizens, while preserving its environmental and cultural authenticity.


To achieve the tasks outlined above, the State set upon to adopt effective partnership between public and private sectors, assuming itself the role of a public sector, stimulating, planning and providing guidance and necessary infrastructure for the tourism development along with the research and studies, while the private sector took the leading role in direct tourism investment, development and implementation of the marketing policies of the tourism industry.

 

In order to reach this goal the SCTA had to maintain the quality and diversity through training and rehabilitation of the national workforce, so as to be the best representation of national tourism in the context of its environment and culture which is characterizes by the kingdom.

SCTA’s Tourism Vision
SCTA is the stimulating center for tourism.  It works in close partnership with various stakeholders and partners to achieve the vision and mission of tourism in the Kingdom as a leading supporter of the creation of sustainable tourism development in accordance with the principles of Islamic values and cultural and ecological realities of the Kingdom.


SCTA’s Tourism Mission
SCTA is committed to facilitate the development of sustainable and successful tourism industry in the Kingdom through the provision of clear policies for the industry.  It is working in close partnership with industry leaders and partners to find and create an atmosphere in this nascent industry through achieving a high degree of self-sufficiency.

 

With regard to the mission of the Board towards the Antiquities and Museums, it will strengthen its ability to protect monuments, record and conduct exploration studies related to antiquities, develop museums and architectural heritage and promote knowledge of the elements of the cultural heritage of the Kingdom.  The Antiquities and Museums in the Commission is exerting in an effective manner to create cultural resources to develop and present it to the members of the community to promote cultural tourism, and stimulate private sector investment in projects of Antiquities and Museums.
