  SCTA LOGO

Each organization's logo reflects the identity and function of its uniqueness.  Whenever the logo is associated with the foundation of the organization, it increases its acceptance and significance. Based on this principal a logo for the Commission was developed.  The process of its development itself is an interesting episode. The logo adopted by SCTA to be a sign of its institution together with its activity has a story behind the cumulative success of the other process in the preparation of this logo. The process witnessed a solid drive, like the march and the development of the tourism industry itself.  First came the assigning of the task to a specialized institution, then the appointment of a panel of experts on marketing and advertising, to comprehend the body from within, visiting various regions of the Kingdom and observing tourism industry closely were the key factors in the development of this unique logo.

The logo with its expressive colors and symbolizing angles came to describe a specific activity. It is a work of art open to multiple meanings and readings, which describes the same entity through the bright colors and harmonious expression of a modern organization. The novelty and the spectrum of colors reflect its dynamism and decisiveness, while the curved lines crossing and interconnecting symbolize the intricate nature of the tourism industry itself. The logo embodies the principle of partnership among stakeholders that are approved by the State in the development of this industry. The harmonious lines of the logo converge to form a Palm tree (a sign of generosity and hospitality). The pair of crossing swards signifies the authority, tradition and heritage.  Thus, the logo reflects the singularity and the brevity of a formal institution of modern Saudi Arabia.

At the same time the logo symbolized by the colors of the rainbow point to the ceremonial and geographical diversity and wealth of the rich environments and the biodiversity in the Kingdom.  Saudi Arabia with its different social customs, heritage and popular culture in its regions is represented in the logo with thirteen acute angles of the Palm.  In fact there are thirteen regions in the Kingdom with attractive tourism activities that are rich and unique. The method of drawing lines and moving without the return to a central point indicates decentralization of authority in this nascent organization. The spontaneous flow of work without active participation of central hold will do away with delays or impediment in the achievement of its progress.

Perhaps the adoption of ‘Zohair’ lines by SCTA to write the names of regions in the logo, gives identity to the organization.  Use of Zohair lines for the main captions of its various publications, emphasizes attention of SCTA to return to the heritage and interrogation.  Zohair lines converted to contemporary style underscores adherence to the old, at the same time giving it a touch of the development and openness. Zohair lines are found in the oldest Islamic inscription, discovered in the Arabian Peninsula, during the time of the Prophet’s honorable companions (God Bless them). They stem from the authenticity of Arab Islamic heritage, culturally distinct, thus become a landmark for the Commission to express its identity and authenticity, making sure the theme is open for the multiple readings and connotations.
