Our Awards
Successive accomplishments made by SCTA, since its inception did not arrive in a vacuum. In fact it was the result of hard and sustained work and performance excellence, as well as setting up of the necessary fundamentals to promote and develop tourism on a massive scale in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 
With the implementation of the overall strategy of tourism development for a number of years, the Commission made significant progress through launching several major initiatives aimed at stimulating growth of tourism sector through the use of organizational, realistic and effective practices.
 
Over the years in its achievements and initiatives SCTA faced many challenges and obstacles in the development of tourism in the Kingdom, for several reasons. Despite these challenges, the Commission officials through undaunted optimism for a brighter future for tourism and through several major initiatives brought about a quantum leap in investments on key tourist destinations, in addition to developing the antiquities and museums sectors along side.
 
International awards conferred on SCTA constitute tangible proof of its performance and a successful journey it lead. Here are some of the most important awards obtained by the Commission:
                           
 


 
Award Title:Saudi E-Government Achievement Award
Presented by: Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Saudi Arabia
Date: 2013
Brief: SCTA received this award in recognition of its outstanding achievements in the light of the results of the fourth measurement of its shift to e-transactions conducted by the "e-Transaction Program" (Yesser) in collaboration with the King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran.
 
 
Award Title:Best Arab government entity to use the social networking and digital media
Presented by: First Arab Social Media Awards
Date: 2012
Brief: SCTA received the award in Amman, Jordan, on the sidelines of 3rd Arab Forum for Social Media, lately.
 
 
Award Title: Best governmental work environment
Presented by: Team One Company and Al Eqtisadia Newspaper
Date: 2012
Brief: SCTA won the first prize in the light of its advanced environment in accordance with the applied government regulations in a modern manner consistent with the aspirations of its leadership, which looks for performance distinction in response to the latest developments.
 
 
Award Title: International Tourism Film Festival Award (Art & Tur)
Presented by: "Art & Tur"
Date: 2012
Brief: SCTA received the award for its documentary film "Al Hijr… Nabatean City". The film which was produced by SCTA has won the award in (People and Places) category.
 

 



 
 
Award Title: Standard of Excellence Award to Procurement and Contract Portal, SCTA
Presented by: Web Marketing Association, USA
Date: 2011
Brief:Procurement and Contract Portal, SCTA was given higher score in standards of web's ease of use to target audience which is the highest among other WebWard competitors. 

 

 
Award Title: The Fist Prize of "Best E-government Portal" in the Arab World
Presented by: Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), an affiliate of the Arab League States, is granting this award in collaboration with Pan Arab Web Awards Academy
Date: 2011
Brief:SCTA website has been granted the first prize of the best e-government portal in the Arab World. The website last year had also been granted the award of "Visual Innovation" which falls under category of ministries and governmental departments. This year the website has drawn jury's great attention for the comprehensive upgrading it went through lately.

 

 
Award Title: Best Strategic E-government Portal
Presented by: Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), an affiliate of the Arab League States, is granting this award in collaboration with Pan Arab Web Awards Academy
Date: 07/06/2011
Brief: The award was granted to SCTA website in recognition of its efforts as best strategic e-government portal that providing electronic services.

 

 

 

 
Award Title: The second award on travel and tourism sector e-service
Presented by: Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), an affiliate of the Arab League States, granting this award in collaboration with Pan Arab Web Awards Academy.

Brief: On registering and approving tourism programs, http://online.sct.gov.sa , SCTA website, has been granted the second award of travel and tourism services.
 
 
Award Title: Ulysses Award for best heritage town project
Presented by: World Tourism Organization
Date: May 2011
Brief: The award was granted to Al Ghat Heritage Village as the best project for heritage village after being nominated by SCTA. The award is recognizing Al Ghat residents' efforts in this project which was carried out by Heritage Village Cooperative Association which was the most important factor for the project to be granted by this award.
Award Title: Excellence Award for providing e-Government Services.
Presented by: Communications and Information Technology Commission
Date: 2010
Brief: Awarded for SCTA’s superiority in the number of electronic services provided, over 54 of them on the National Portal of e-Government through the link: www.saudi.gov.sa.

 

 

 

 
Award Title: Award for the Best governmental portal strategy
Presented by: The Arab Academy for Internet Awards, that works in cooperation with the Arab Administrative Development Organization (Arado), one of the organizations of the League of Arab States.

Brief: The award aims to promote opportunities for intellectual production and to develop interaction and stimulation for the community, drawing respect for the electronics sector in an excellent way. Arab Web Awards' is designed to encourage all sectors to spotlight their websites and to increase their commitment in the field of information technology.
 

 

 

 
Award Title: MAS website was awarded second place in the classification of
information websites
Presented by: The Arab Academy for Internet Awards, which works in cooperation with the Arab Administrative Development Organization (Arado), one of the organizations of the League of Arab States.
Date: 2010
Brief: This award is given in recognition of the excellence in web design and development, highlighting the capabilities of the of site owners, displaying their creativity through competition for the best website in the Arab world.
 
 
Award Title: First Prize in the classification of Cultural sites
Presented by: The Arab Administrative Development Organization (Arado)
Date: 2010
Brief: The website of the First International Conference on Urban Heritage in Islamic countries www.islamicurbanheritage.org.sa got the first-place prize in the classification of cultural sites.

 

 
Award Title: The Institute of Middle East Award for Excellence
Presented by: The Institute of Middle East Award for Excellence in research and field studies

Brief: This award highlights the creation of the prominent and most important applications of information technology solutions and communication by the governmental and private institutions to provide electronic services to customers with high quality that qualifies them to compete with the international institutions on a global scale.

 

 
Award Title: e-Governance Visual Innovation Award
Presented by: The Arab Academy for Internet Awards, a partner of the Arab Administrative Development Organization (Arado), an affiliate of the League of Arab States.
Date: 2010
Brief: This award is given to SCTA website’s featured design and its colors while maintaining the official image of SCTA, besides, the site’s colors and design matching SCTA’s message and services.

 

 
Award Title: The ISO certificate for quality and information security
Presented by: International Standards Organization
Date: 2009
Brief: The award promotes activating the e-applications while ensuring clear criteria for the provision of effective systems for information security management. It is also designed to protect the privacy of information for each destination in addition to examining each application and the online service available.

 

 
Award Title: Best Portal Award in the field of knowledge and information
Presented by: The Institute of Middle East Award for Excellence
Date: 2010
Brief: The award encourages organizations in the Middle East to adopt technological solutions for sustainable and comprehensive development, as well as raise the quality control levels in public and private sectors. That through honoring the leading organizations in the field of application of latest technology decisions in the field of e-government in particular and e-services in general, in addition to highlighting their role in maintaining the technological needs for development in this field.
 
Award Title: Oscar Award of Excellence for the ad film "Takhyoul" (Imagine)
Presented by: Oscar International Video Festival, in Alexandria
Date: 8-11/07/2010
Brief: Award honors and recognizes the best films on tourism. The festival held in Alexandria in 8-11/07/2010, was organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Culture.

 

 
Award Title: Ulysses Award for Innovation in tourism programs. The award was given
for the "Smile” program, developed by SCTA.

Brief: the award recognized the success attained by “Smile” program in school tourism education.
 

 

 
Award Title: ISO certificate for Quality Management systems
Presented by: Pero Veteran Company
Date: 2007
Brief: International Quality Control application certification recognizes SCTA’s commitment to international standards of quality control in its transaction management. It also comes in line with SCTA plans which aim to achieve distinction over its all administration and specialization activities, as well as creating an institutional, distinct and leading culture on the levels of private and public sectors.
 

 

 

 

 
Award Title: Oracle Award for excellence in electronic applications
Presented by: Oracle Corporation
Date: 2006
Brief: SCTA’s experience in the field of e-transaction applications since its inception has drawn great interest from various government agencies, especially after being awarded the Oracle Award for Excellence in electronic applications in recognition of its ambitious vision adopted for the development of the concept of e-governance.
 

 

 
Award Title: Computer Driving License Award
Presented by: European Computer Driving License Foundation
Date: 2005
Brief: in 2005, SCTA was granted Computer Driving License by the European Computer Driving License Foundation.
 
 
Award Title: Award for the Best e-Government Application
Presented by: ACN magazine
Date: 2007
Brief: in 2007, SCTA was granted the Award of the Best e-Government Application from ACN magazine.

 

 

 

 

 

 
Award Title: Man of the Year Award on information technology in the Kingdom
Presented by: ITB International Group
Date: 2003
Brief: ITB International Group granted the Man of the Year Award to His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz President of SCTA, Chairman of the Foundation for Disabled Children. It was given in recognition of his extraordinary efforts in the field of information technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as his special research and persistent support to SCTA in this field through two key programs: 1. “Integrated  Electronic System” and 2. “Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP)”. The first program is devoted to the application of an integrated system for establishing and following up internal administrative transactions, which will ensure a high degree of
control over SCTA’s transactions as well as ensure the maximum degree in efficiency, productivity and speed. The second program is allocated to the application of an integrated system for management of financial resources, accounting procedures, human resources management, procurement and warehousing.
 
 
Award Title: International Award for ad film festival “Culture and Heritage”
Presented by:

Brief: The film includes footage of the stunning countryside in Saudi Arabia, folk dance shows, crafts, popular souks, shopping malls and antiquities. The film highlights SCTA’s vision for the future of tourism in the Kingdom over the next twenty years.
 
Award Title: Computer Driving License
Presented by: ICDL
Date: 2005
Brief: SCTA was successful in the management of information technology through the deployment of concepts and applications of e-government in the body where it became a great example for others to follow e-government transactions.
